2025 Thanksgiving Drive-thru Distribution 2025 Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Distribution Our 2025 Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Distribution was a wonderful success! With the help of our dedicated volunteers, we were able to serve hundreds of families in our community. From early morning set-up to the final car in line, our volunteers worked with kindness, energy, and teamwork to make the day smooth and joyful. We also appreciate the support of DPD for managing traffic flow, which kept the distribution organized and safe for everyone, and Methodist for assisting with turkey and Thanksgiving meal bags. Families received Thanksgiving meals bag, warm smiles, and a sense of connection during this special time of year. We are truly grateful for everyone who contributed, including volunteers, partners, and community members who came together to make this event meaningful. Thank you to everyone who helped us bring holiday warmth and support to our community. 2025 Spring Digital Literacy Training & Graduation CONGRATURATIONS!! Our Digital Literacy Training program is designed to empower individuals with essential tech skills for everyday life and work. Participants learn how to navigate devices like laptops and Chromebooks, use email, access online tools, manage digital files, and stay safe online. We provide this training to help individuals progress in their careers, education, financial management, health resources , and addressing food insecurity . A key focus is teaching participants how to confidently browse the internet to find and access the resources they need on their own. This hands-on training helps build confidence in using technology—whether it's for job searching, learning new skills, managing finances, or connecting to important services like telehealth and local support programs. Flu Clinic 2025 Flu Clinic 2025: Collaboration in Action for a Healthier Community Last Weekend, Empowering the Masses proudly partnered with Texas Health Resources  to host a Flu Clinic  during our Drive-Thru Pantry  — and the impact was incredible. In total, 59 individuals  received their free flu shots , thanks to both walk-in and drive-thru  services designed to make access as simple and stress-free as possible. Teamwork That Makes a Difference Our amazing team of volunteers and staff worked seamlessly alongside the Texas Health Resources team to support both the food distribution and the flu clinic. From directing traffic to providing intake support, it was truly a group effort to serve our community with compassion, dignity, and care. We are so proud of the coordination, energy, and spirit of service shown by everyone involved. Thank You, Texas Health Resources We’re incredibly grateful for the Texas Health Resources  team and their dedication to keeping our community safe and healthy. Their willingness to collaborate, adapt, and show up where it matters most speaks volumes about their commitment to public health. This partnership not only delivered flu shots — it also delivered hope, trust, and the kind of community connection we strive to build every day. South Dallas Tree Giveaway Event We’re happy to share the success of the South Dallas Tree Giveaway Event, a meaningful day focused on community and care for our environment. With the generous support of the Texas Trees Foundation, we were able to provide free trees to local residents, helping to grow a greener, healthier South Dallas. Pause & Paint: A Creative Conversation on Menopause #2 Our recent Pause & Paint  event brought women together for creativity, connection, and open conversation around menopause. Thanks to the Park South Family YMCA , participants enjoyed a warm and welcoming space where they could paint freely, share stories, and support one another. Each guest left with a hand-painted pottery piece and a sense of empowerment and connection. A huge thank-you to our Community Engagement team  for making this event happen three times and helping share important information with the community.
