Every dollar helps us move our mission forward. We Couldn't Have Done It Without You To every donor, volunteer, partner, and friend who shared, supported, or gave — THANK YOU. This win belongs to all of us. What’s Next Now that we've exceeded our goal, here’s what’s coming up for Empowering the Masses: Expand Our Workforce Development Programs. - Flu Clinic 2025: Collaboration in Action for a Healthier Community
Flu Clinic 2025 Flu Clinic 2025: Collaboration in Action for a Healthier Community Last Weekend, Empowering the Masses proudly partnered with Texas Health Resources to host a Flu Clinic during our Drive-Thru Pantry — and the impact was incredible. In total, 59 individuals received their free flu shots , thanks to both walk-in and drive-thru services designed to make access as simple and stress-free as possible. Teamwork That Makes a Difference Our amazing team of volunteers and staff worked seamlessly alongside the Texas Health Resources team to support both the food distribution and the flu clinic. From directing traffic to providing intake support, it was truly a group effort to serve our community with compassion, dignity, and care. We are so proud of the coordination, energy, and spirit of service shown by everyone involved. Thank You, Texas Health Resources We’re incredibly grateful for the Texas Health Resources team and their dedication to keeping our community safe and healthy. Their willingness to collaborate, adapt, and show up where it matters most speaks volumes about their commitment to public health. This partnership not only delivered flu shots — it also delivered hope, trust, and the kind of community connection we strive to build every day. A Healthier South Dallas, Together At Empowering the Masses, we believe that access to health care and nutritious food go hand in hand. Through partnerships like this one, we’re working to make both more accessible — one pantry day, one flu shot, and one neighbor at a time. Stay tuned for more community health events coming soon!

Every community deserves a chance to thrive—with dignity, opportunity, and hope. Empowering the Masses (ETM) , a dynamic nonprofit based in South Dallas, is turning that belief into reality. Who We Are Founded in 2018 by Executive Director Tammy Johnson , ETM has one clear mission: to break the cycle of generational poverty through education, workforce development, and health equity training. Their formula is simple, yet powerful: Education + Advocacy = Empowerment. What We Do CommUNITY Market Every week, ETM supports over 600 families through its CommUNITY Market. Here, families shop with dignity—choosing the items they need from a well-stocked pantry. For those unable to visit, ETM partners with DoorDash to deliver food directly to their homes. Workforce Training ETM equips its neighbors for financial independence via: Phlebotomy Training : Dozens of graduates now working in healthcare with average salary increases of $20,000. Upskill Training : Fast-tracked certification program helping adults quickly re-enter the workforce in medical roles. Community Health Worker (CHW) Training : Equipping local leaders to become certified CHWs who support health education and advocacy in underserved communities. Digital Literacy Training : Nearly 70 participants have completed training—bridging the digital divide and gaining essential tech skills for jobs, school, and daily life. Lunch & Learns Each month, ETM hosts Lunch & Learn sessions focused on the social determinants of health—economic stability, education, healthcare access, and more—providing both education and a supportive community space. Why This Work Matters ETM dives deep into the social determinants of health (SDOH) —the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, including economic stability, education, healthcare access, and social supports. By improving these foundations, ETM lifts up entire families and strengthens communities. How You Can Help This Giving Day North Texas Giving Day (September 18, 2025) is just around the corner! This annual community-wide giving initiative, now in its 17th year, sees millions raised for North Texas nonprofits. In 2024 alone, over $70 million flowed into local organizations—and every dollar goes directly to impact work, thanks to Communities Foundation of Texas covering all platform and transaction fees. Here’s how your support can make a difference: Hire a Case Manager for the CommUNITY Market Enable personalized support and resource navigation for families. Stock the Shelves with Diverse, Nutritious Options Ensure culturally relevant and healthy food is available. Add “White-Glove” Ambassadors Provide welcoming assistance—including help with shopping and loading groceries. Offer Wrap-Around Services for Students Support success with essentials like transportation and childcare. Hire an Employment Specialist Keep graduates on track with job placement assistance. Empowering the Masses is more than a nonprofit—it’s a catalyst for change. By addressing root causes of inequality and giving people the tools to succeed, they’re not just offering help—they're igniting transformation. This North Texas Giving Day, your contribution could be the spark. Your support helps expand life-changing training, education, and support services where they’re needed most.
