As a social work student at UTA, this internship opportunity with Empowering the Masses is invaluable. One of the many reasons I chose the MSW program was to serve, and I am grateful for every chance I get to interact with our neighbors and find ways to increase capacity. The skills I use will transcend this experience, and I am beyond thankful to be a part of the ETM family.

Since last summer, I have been an intern with empowering the masses. My experience has been excellent. I appreciate the goal and vision of empowering the masses. It largely reflects my beliefs. My experience empowering the masses has helped me understand and become more familiar with the range of community services that are available to the general population, which is something I want to do with my career as a social worker. I presently work in outreach and case management, and the experience I am gaining from empowering people will unquestionably help me when I eventually want to work as a social worker.

This internship experience has been extremely rewarding! I have to opportunity to connect my background in education to my larger goal in making a positive impact on public health and well-being. The foundation of ETM “Education + Advocacy = Empowerment” is something I truly believe in and to have a role that assists in that mission is something I am so grateful to be a part of!
